How To Treat Recurring Eye Infection, Antibiotics And Steroids Offer Temporary Relief?

i have had a reoccuring eye infection on and off since september last year. It starts with an itchy lower lid on my left eye then progresses into my eyes. I have had various antibiotic and steroid drops, some of which have made the skin around my eyes very sore.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having recurring infection of the eyes. Since you are having itching of the eye lids during each episode you are having allergic inflammation of the eyes.
Hence you require treatment of the allergic condition by use of anti allergic drugs.
The allergic conditions of the eyes require treatment for a long time and if possible you need to find out the allergen and should avoid it.
Antibiotics are required only in acute stage with infection. Steroids are indicated in severe allergies not respinding to other anti allergic drugs.

Thank you
