How To Treat A Lump In The Brow Area?

my teenage daughter apparently got bit by some sort of insect on her brow area 5 days her eye got very swollen to the point of barely being open. we saw our family Dr. a day and a half later and she prescribed prednisone. She said if it wasn t better in a day or two to come back in to the clinic. It seemed like it was getting a bit better but then on Saturday morning (of course!) it became more swollen again and the lump is now very hard. Can we wait until Monday morning to call back to the clinic or should she go to the emergency room ?We are rural and have no other options.

Hello
It seems from the history that your daughter is having a inflammatory swelling in the brow area following a insect bite.
This indicates inflammation or infection.
The treatment is by use of antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs.
If the lump has become hard hot compression will help.
If it does not resolve then you need to consult your eye doctor.

Thank you
