How To Stop Girl From Taking Hormones To Turn Into Male?

I am very upset! My 23 yr. old daughter has started to take hormones to become a male....I think she is too young to make this type of decision. I am so sad & don't know what to do. I love her & always will but she wants to erase her past like she never existed....I'm desperate & not able to function.....I forgot how everything is about money which I don't have. YYYY@YYYY

It's understandable you would be upset about her taking hormones to become male. She's your little girl and always will be no matter her age. However, 23 years is considered an adult and she is old enough to make this type of decision. It isn't that she wants to erase her past like she never existed. This has probably bothered her for years and affected her greatly. Most transgender people are aware that something is "wrong" with them at an early age. The fact that she has identified the problem and is taking steps to fix it is a good thing. This is something that is inborn and has nothing to do with how you raised her. You might want to read up about transgender people and what difficulties they go through psychologically with self identity. If you can have an open, nonjudgmental talk with your daughter about her feelings and thoughts about this, it would be more helpful to both of you than trying to get her to stop taking the meds. You are unlikely to get her to stop. She has likely thought about this for years and has made an adult decision. Remember that you are not responsible for her situation; you did not cause this and you cannot change it. The best thing to do is to accept her decision and let her know you love her no matter what. Good luck to you and your daughter.

You should enroll her in an organization which deals in such disorders without charging any cost.

We sometimes go through psychological turbulence and its evry important for us to not ignore it because of lack of money.

If you're not able to get hold of such an organization, let me know as I'll find it fir you with respect to your location.
