How To Cure Pain And Swelling In Finger?
My middle finger is red,swollen and painful. Could this be something other than gout? I had a similar problem with the middle finger on my left hand twice. I took meds, but only got relief after my internist lanced the finger and relieved the pressure. This hurts so much and I really want to know if there is another option for me. Thank you.

Possible causes like paronychia or other infective causes must be ruled out. Can you attach a picture in the follow up query to make a diagnosis. If there is pus, it must be drained.
