How Should Urination Pain With Hematuria Be Treated?

My period ended 4 days ago and now I feel pain whenever I pee. There s blood coming out together with the urine and I keep wanting to pee after a few minutes later. And the blood seems a lot. Can someone tell me what may cause this and how to treat this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The blood in urine can be related to many medical conditions.

In our daily practice, one of the common causes is urinary tract infection.

I suggest doing a urine test and an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

I also suggest to drink liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
