Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you want to lose weight by walking , then you should go for brisk walking. Not just simply walking with friends . The best time to choose would be early morning . As a beginner you should start with 15-20 min Brisk walk, then after a week of time increase it to 30 min.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
