How Long Do Torn Ligaments In Foot Take To Heal?

My mom who is 76 fell on a broken piece of concrete coming out of a department store the other day and broke her foot and tore some ligaments in the foot. They put a plate with 2 screws and wires in her foot. She is about to go to rehab. I think the cast will stay on a couple two or three weeks and then maybe a boot. How long until she can put weight on the foot?

Hello and thank you for your question. Ligaments can take a long time to heal. We can not answer your question about weight bearing here. That question must be answered by the surgeon. Only the surgeon would know the details about the surgery and hardware. They will have to give you that answer. Good day to you.
