How Early Can HIV Infection Be Diagnosed?

Please write your question here hi?last month I had a miscarriage, I was just one month when I lost the pregnancy,after the miscarage (3 weeks) I went for an Hiv test and it came out positive,they started me right away on medications. I went with my boyfriend so he can test too but his test came back Negative,am just confuse how is it possible,I never cheated or so and the pregnancy was his so how did it it come to him being Negative?we never used protection at all. the other thing is when I got a miscarage I got numb feet and my one leg got weak I can stand up or walk and I explain when they gave me Arvs and up to today I still have the same problems,is it now part of hiv or part of miscarriage? or third my boyfriend have decided to be by my side,at times I feel guilty and am scared to have sex with him now that he knows his negative status,we will go back after 3 months,will his status change maybe?

Hello,

Your concern is genuine that how come you are tested positive while your partner doesn't, so there could be two possibilities for it one that your partner is in window period it is that period during which test comes negative but almost after a period of six months it comes positive or secondly you got infected through some other route like blood transfusion or use of some infected needle. But if neither is the case, then probably your partner is in it.

Now your second problem of how to do sex with your partner you can do it without fear with the use of a condom because it prevents the transmission of it. Your weakness of leg can be the result of the arv but in order to be confirmed with it, I would suggest you to underwent x-ray so that better prognosis can be made.
