How Can Whole Body Cysts Causing Scarring On Removal Be Treated?
I have these cysts all over my body. The number of them have increased over the years. Some you can see and I am becoming self conscious of them. I have been Tolstoy they are fatty cysts and that the scar from them being removed would be worse then just leaving them. What is your opinion? Is it something more I should be concerned with?
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
From your history, it seems that you have got multiple lipomatosis, which are benign fatty deposits. These are firm lumps which are benign carrying practically very negligible risk unless when they press on any organ or nerve. Multiple excisional biopsy would also give rise to scars unless done very meticulously. Usually it would be left onto the patient whether they need surgery and would be ready to accept the scars or if they want these lumps to stay like that with proper precautions. Thus you would be the best judge to decide on it.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
