How Can Typhoid Along With Hearing Loss Be Treated?

My husband aged 75 had fever and doctor prescribed augmentin. A course after 5 days was not effective. I got his blood tested & report indicated typhoid positive. Now he is on cifran twice daily for 2 weeks. He has loss of hearing in right ear. Very weak still. Had also double vision but now has improved. Earlier he had very good hearing & vision. No cataract as we had checked resently.
