The recurrent urinary tract infection requires cause evaluation which is responsible for the same and manage in accordance to that.
Guidelines at present:
- Do not self treat with antibiotics (which create great chances of drug resistance over period of time).
- Drink plenty of liquids.
- Consume cranberry sachet once daily in a glass of drinking water.
- Maintain genital hygiene.
- Control blood sugar.
- Discuss the need of urine culture, complete the course of necessary antibiotics accordingly.
- Get an ultrasound with or without CT scan to rule out the underlying pathology.
- Avoid vaginal sex if involved till doctor's advise.
