How Can Macular Edema Be Treated?

I have been taking Acetozolamide (Diamox) for a year to reduce the adema in my eye. It seems to make me depressed. I have not taken it for the past week and the depression has disappeared but my vision appears to be slightly worse. If I start taking it again will I be able to recover my better vision?
