How Can Itchy And Swollen Eyes In An Infant Be Treated?

Hello. Is it safe to use a generic brand of Visine on my daughter who will be 4 next month? Her eyes are very red, swollen, itchy and I keep having to wipe this guck from the corners.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You need to visit an ophthalmologist and check if she has nasolacrimal duct obstruction because this causes the same symptoms and at 4 months it will need a small procedure called probing to open up . If it's just an Infection which is long standing the doctor will take a conjunctival swab and culture it and then see what organism it is .
