Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

By your history and description, possibility of stress, anxiety and description are more likely. So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You will need newer anxiolytic, antidepressants and other supportive treatment. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I suffer with poor sleep, last week I got approximately 7 hours and since Satuday I have had even less. I have a darkened room, sleep pillow, fan, tried reading, low music, exercise and get no benefits. I am absolutely shattered, work 11 hr days and getting extremely irritable. I am getting tearful due to exhaustion. I have suffered with insomnia since around 12 years old (puberty), I am now 54 and it is getting worse. Went to drs yesterday and was told to read a book! I have previously been prescribed Zitalopran but have been told yesterday I cannot have sleeping tablets as they can cause early dementia. I am at a loss as to what to do.

Yes please. I appreciate it. My husband is not sleeping at all and his psychiatrist gave him Tamazepam to take 45 mg and clonazepam for anxiety and sleep. for clonazepam he wants him to take .5 mg 4x a day (2 during day and 2 before bed). We are nervous that that is a lot of medicines and they will not interact well. We want him to take 1 .5 mg pill of clonazapem and 45 mg of tamazepam only before bed. Please advise
