How Can Bitter Taste In The Mouth Be Treated?

I think I had a case of food poisoning 4 nights ago. I was having cold sweats all night. I never vomited or had diarrhea. This morning everything I eat has a bitter taste and my stool had what looks like stringy wormy mucous in it. I have chronic post nasal drip but never such a weird taste. I had my teeth cleaned last week and I need a deep cleaning but this has just come on. I also had blood work a couple weeks ago and e erything was normal. I am 72 years old. What should I do.?
