How Can Grover's Disease Be Managed?

my stepmother lives in Southwest Florida. She is early to mid 60's. She lives at home in a single family home. He has recently come into contact with a neighbors home that was unkempt and also sees a friend whom lives in an assisted living facility. She has the shingles virus in her system, but states that the symptoms she is having does not feel like shingles. She did lab work, and has raised bumpy skin in her torso, abdomen area and legs. At first doc said scabies, and now they say grovers disease. She is very fatigued and her abdomen seems bloated. She has very little appetite.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Bloating abdomen may be not associated with disease, but Grover's disease itself treated with retinoid pills, anti fungal medication, cortisone injections, PUVA therapy, topical application of Selenium Sulfide etc.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol, use tablet Pantoprazole.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
