Have High Fever, Headache And Cough With Phlegm

My husband has bad cough with phlegm for the past 3 weeks. Had been to 2 separate doctors twice. The first one started with the course of antibiotic for 5 days and Ascoril. It didn't help much. The second doctor checked him and said that the chest was clear and gave another course of antibiotic for 5 days. ( levoday and cough suppressant) doc said to go for chest x ray if at all the cough doesn't go off by a week. Cough has reduced but yesterday he came up with a 101 degree fever and headache. He is all fine today. Any suggestions?

He should undergo xray xhest, sputum examination for AFB, sputum for culture and sensitivity, Complete blood picture and a Mantoux's test. throat swab should be taken to rule out swine flue. Its not mentioned in your question what is the age of the pt? what is his blood sugar and Hb levels, as this can affect immunity.
