Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a dull pain in my upper left hypochondriac area of my stomach . the pain comes and goes and is more severe at times than others. some times the pain isn t even noticeable. the pain on a scale of 0-10 is usually no higher than a 3 and it feels as if it is bruised or sore like a muscle would be after extensive use ex: weight training. the pain is more uncomfortable than anything and I m not sure what could cause it because it doesn t happen at a specific time or after any specific activity. what could cause this?
If the pain comes up when you have not eaten or immediately your eat or if you have over-eaten or with some spicy meal or on eaten 'hard' food, then it can be GASTRITIS or PEPTIC ULCER DISEASE especially if it is relieved by eating in general or jelly-like or milky foods in particular.
This can be easily treated especially if diagnosed early enough. So please see your physician for diagnosism dietary advice and for him to rule out other possible causes (like heart disease etc).
Best regards and quick recovery,
Dr Mbong
