Is Significant Weakness In The Legs And Arms For The Past Three Weeks Along With Partial Numbness A Serious Concern?

For the last 2-3 weeks I have noticed significant weakness in my legs and arms. My arms, from shoulder to fingertips, are semi numb. My dexterity is significantly affected. I must walk with a cane now as my balanced is poor and legs are weak. I have zaps from time to time, mostly in my shoulders, that feel like I m having and EMG. It came on rather suddenly. I am type 2 diabetic and use insulin and know I have peripheral neuropathy, but was able to walk on my own. Any ideas?
