Does Viral Infection Get Cured On Its Own?

Hi, mi daughter who is 29 had a severe cold and coughing 4 weeks ago, now she has headaches, sensitivity to light and sound, muscle pain. Her ANA results were high. Her PCP said it is all probably due to the viral infection and symptoms will go away gradually. what is your opinion?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
ANA positive is a sign of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease, autoimmune hepatitis, and others can occur. Symptoms vary by disease, but they may include rashes, swelling, arthritis, or fatigue.
However, conditions such as infections, cancer, and other medical problems can also result in a positive ANA test.
I think they are high due to viral infection she is having post viral state .
Keep her in observation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
