Does Thyroid Medicine Have Ill-effects On Fetus?

Hello - My wife is having the ThyroidTSH 6.5 and she is taking medicine. After few days we come to know that she is pregnant and she stopped to take the medicine. She missed the medicine in her 4th and 5th week. After that she once again started to take medicine. She is now in her 7th Week - is there any issue for stopping the medicine for ttwo weeks . Has this already done any damage . And what should we do next.
Please advise - we are very nervous about this.

I can understand your worry, this is like double edge sword (Some time) but no need to worry about this the physiology takes the great care of baby, any medicine not advisable in pregnancy, for the thyroid it is equally important, your wife can start taking the medicine after second trimester, its okay if she has not taken it in previous days, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
