Does Pain In The Leg After A Fall Need Medical Attention?

Dear Doctor, I have a simple health question. About 3 weeks ago I slipped on a throw rug getting out of the shower and I hurt the middle of my leg but I can t tell if it was the tibia bone or maybe a muscle or something but anyway, the pain is still somewhat there. Especially when I lay on it. Do you think the pain will eventually go away or should I see my dr since it s been 3 weeks. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi,

1) If you are an elderly person with less bone density you have to worry about a fracture.
2) Its already been three weeks its probably not a major bone injury. Most probably it will be a soft tissue injury. But get an x-ray if you are not able to walk without limping.
3) For faster recovery meets a physiotherapist and orthopedician who would prescribe you calcium and vitamin supplements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Raja Ramesh, General & Family Physician
