Does Getting Hit On Leg By Pole Cause Veins To Swell?

I m a flag twirler for my school & I was practicing outside just a few moments ago, I hit my leg pretty hard with the pole of the flag & now it s red, as expected, but the veins in my legs where I hit look swollen or enlarged. Is that from hitting it? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
The swollen veins over the leg are due to trauma sustained by you while hitting your leg with the flag pole.Vein gets bruised and the blood that oozes out collects in the sub cutaneous tissues producing swelling. It will get resolved in a few days.
