Do Tension Headaches Need Immediate Medical Attention?
Hi, I’ve been having tension head ache for almost a week. I believe it is a tension head ache. Almost feels like I have a band around my head. Also the top center but in the middle only like a tiny part of my head feels a little Cold? It’s just kind of throbbing? Just like one part not even a whole section but just like the size of a dime in the middle feel weird. I can’t really tell what it is. My headache isn’t getting worse, but it isn’t going away. I tried tynelol, cbd tincture and lavender oil to relax me. I even went on google to make sure this isn’t something I should be concerned about. What should I do?
You certainly appear by some of the symptoms described to be suffering from a TENSION TYPE headache which can last for prolonged period of time. If you have a history of headaches in the past then, it would be advisable to see a headache specialist because there are specific medications that are better than others in order to either TREAT or PREVENT such headaches.
You also may be overusing OTC analgesics which is easy to do when headaches come on as you describe them. Following the labeled instructions are not the best way to treat headaches lasting 3, 4, or more days in a row.
Also, GOOGLING how to treat headaches is not very effective since anything by prescription should be handled by a doctor. For this reason I recommend a headache specialist. Finding the root cause is always the goal of treating a headache but it can be elusive or even masked when too much medication is taken.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
