Could The Feeling Of Bitterness Be Due To The Damage Of Taste Buds After Taking Pine Nuts?

Hi, I had pine nuts about 4-5 days ago, and it has been 3 days that I am experiencing an extreme feeling of bitterness in my mouth. It is very annoying. I read online that it could be related to the pine nuts. How long does it take to go away? Could my taste buds be permanently damaged?

Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM.
Pine nuts often cause dysguesia or altered taste sensation. But, it is temporary. You may take a couple of weeks to come round.
Have plenty of oral fluids (3-4 lit/day) and citrus fruit everyday.
If the symptoms are not relieved in a couple of weeks, please consult your local physician for further evaluation. You can also write back to me in a direct query if the problem persists.
Regards,
Dr. Kaushik
