Could High Level Of Cholesterol, Triglycerides And Gamma GT Lead To Weight Gain?

Just got my blood work back and my Cholisterol was high 211, Triglyerides was high 190 and Gamma GT was high 38. I ve been gaining weight in the tummy with bloating feeling Could this be the reason? I eat normal with no alchol. I m not a candy eater.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the query.
Maintain well balanced diet with regular exercises. In lack of proper exercises or physical activity the additional calories and proteins gets converted to and deposited as fat.
When you are selecting the fats always choose Monounsaturated fats like olive oil, mustard oil, sesame oil and Polyunsaturated fats like safflower oil, sunflower oil etc. These do not alter the cholesterol levels if used in limited quantities i.e. 4 tsp oil per day. I would advise you to add plenty of whole cereals, pulses and raw fruits and vegetables to your diet. These foods will provide the much required fiber to reduce the cholesterol levels. And never forget to keep yourself hydrated, drink sufficient water and stay healthy.
