Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Peripheral Arterial Disease Cause Pain In The Lower Legs?
i WALK 2MILES A DAY EXCEPT FOR wED & SUN WITH NO PAIN. i AM 86 AND HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH LOWER EXCEPT WHEN SLEEPING, NO PAIN BUT STIFNESS. i DO RUBING OF LEGS IN AM AND OTHER TIMES OF DAY AND WONDER IF I HAVE PAD. HAD TEST IN HOSPITAL AND RESULT SHOWED PROBLEM IN LOWER LEG NOT IN TOES
It may not be PAD (Peripheral arterial disease) but it seems to be an accumulation of lactic acid because of walking long distance.
Second thought it could be claudication both the conditions are pretty common in old age it is the geriatric symptoms may not indicate any disease so no need to worry.
Simple soda water can help a lot for the pain, drink soda water it could eliminate the lactic acid from the system.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
