Can Any Supplement Cause Bruising?

64 year old female, 5 5, 138 lbs, low cholesterol (165), blood pressure usually 110/70 taking a multi-vitamin, fish oil, vitamin C and some other supplements. Walk 3 miles 3 -4 times a week, light weight training. I m not on any prescription drugs. I ve notice that I am bruising easily. Can any supplement cause bruising?

Greetings. This is very curious. Now with the fish oil you do get a blood thinning effect which may make you prone to bleeding. Also, with age, blood vessels come closer to the surface of the skin and bruise easier. The other thing I thought of was vitamin K deficiency, but generally you would notice lower bone density along with a K deficiency.

Perhaps, if the bruising is mostly in the legs you may need support hose. Those are my ideas as you have given every indication that you are healthy. Next time you write in, it might be helpful to write down ALL the supplements you are on if you have a question about supplements in general.
