Can I Apply Ice On Swollen Eye After A Cut In Forehead?

Hi, I fell today on a parking lot and cut my forehead open leaving about an inch gash. I am fine, but my left eye is swollen shut and I'm wondering if I should keep putting ice on it? This happend around noon today and I got 2 stitches. I'm wondering if I can was the eye out as it seems to be getting a lot of matter. Also, should I still be icing it and will the direct contact on the eye with the ice damage the eye? Thanks.

Hello
It seems from the history that you had a cut injury above forehead following which you are having swelling of the eyelids.
The swelling of the eyelids is because of collection of blood in the layers of skin of eyelids. This is common following injuries above the level of eye brow.
This will resolve over 3-4 weeks. You can apply cold compression by ice packs no problem will occur if ice goes into eye.

Thank you
