Can Azilect Be Taken For Parkinson S Disease In An Elderly Patient?

My husband has parkinson, his first Nerologist perscribed azlect, as he said it would slow down the progression. Now the new Nerologist says that at his age which is only 77, it probably will not help him so he could stop taking it. I would like to know what you think. I feel he should continue to take it, he was diagnosed about 12 years ago, and he has some problems, but is doing pretty good.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to many studies it is proven that there is no interaction between age and drug and my opinion is if he is improving with the drug then no need to stop the medication. Is he taking any other drug along with azilect?
If you prefer to stop the drug don't stop the drug abruptly as it may show up symptoms, do it under the monitor of your physician.
