Are There Two Ways Of Measuring Axis Of Eyes?

Are there two ways of measuring axis of eyes? I visited one optometrist and he wrote axis as od=70 os=120; but another wrote it as od=160 os=20 and today one wrote it as od=165 os=15. All of these exams were in the space of three months even though I am not experiencing abnormal vision problems--just want a pair of glasses which fit.

Hello,

Yes, there are two ways of expressing the cylinders and their axis. These are opposite signs at right angles. For example a -2.00 cyl at 70 axis is the same as +2.0 cyl at 160 axis. Some countries write the former while some write the latter. But they are the same.
