Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My calcium levels have came back high for over a year now and I have had two parathyroid test in the past year and they are normal. I feel tired and arms and legs fell tingly all the tim. My Dr. Just wants to keep watching the calcium levels. I also take 1200 mg of calcium daily for osteoporosis. Should I be concerned?
Thanks for asking to HCM.I noted the history.According to me,longterm high blood calcium levels are to be concerned as it might cause neurological problems, kidney stones etc.I would suggest you to consult with your treating physician for alternate treatment for osteoporosis like bisphosphonates(pamidronate,Alendronate),Calcitonin. Hope I have answered your query. If any further questions, happy to assist you.
