After Foot Surgery What Is The Cause For Visible Veins On The Calf?

had foot surgury 20 days ago on two toes. calf has been hurting approx 5-7 days after surgury on nov 27th. Just noticed this morning that there are big veins making like a plus design on the rear on my calf. I have never been able to see my veins on my body and this is making me investigate. thank you kevin

Hi there,
Are you not ambulating well prior to and after surgery?
Because it might be a evolving DVT as you are complaining of pain. Is your leg swollen too?
If yes you to have a DUPLEX study to rule out DVT as it is an emergency.

Or it can be a simple myositis secondary to surgery. I hope you would have been given a anti biotic course, continue it.
