Question: solution for insomnia
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Prasad J (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
treat the cause..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Based on the cause insomnia is treated with behavioral therapy, life style modifications and rarely with sedatives. To begin with, I would suggest some behavioral therapy and life style changes, such as:
1. Following a strict sleep timing
2. Avoiding meals an hour or two before hitting bed
3. Avoiding XXXXXXX phones, laptop and TV while in bed
4. Keeping room temperature in the room in pleasant range - not too cold, not too hot
5. Avoiding bright lights in the room during sleep

In addition to these, I will also suggest discussing with a doctor in detail about the cause of insomnia. Specific treatment will be directed based on the cause. If deemed necessary, the doctor can start on mild sedatives for a few days to help you get into a sleeping schedule.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
