Hi! About Three Days Ago I Noticed A Dry Patch
Question: hi! about three days ago i noticed a dry patch onn my face located right below the border of my bottom right side of my lips. it grew slightly and is a patch of flaky skin with a reddish hue underneath. there are no bumps or papules, and the skin doesnt have any sensation other than its a little itchy when i leave it dry. i have been putting vaseline on it to keep any irritant from getting onto the area. its about the size of my thumbnail.
i have no history of psoriasis or extreme skin issues on my face. i have had a few breakouts and so i started using Aveeno acne pads with Salicylic Acid about a month ago and had no irritation.
i do have a sinus infection and it has been causing me to snore/ drool while sleeping. when i first noticed the dry patch, i thought it was dried drool at first lol because i had some in that corner of my mouth.
could this be Perioral Dermatitis, or im a little worried that its fungal ?

Most likely it is just a dry patch of skin due to repeated washing or using products with salicylic acid on face, salicylic acid being drying in nature. I suggest you to use a gentle cleansing lotion e.g Cetaphil gentle cleansing lotion rather than soap. You may continue with the moisturizer. Apart from that you may use a mild steroid e.g cortisone cream (hydrocortisone cream), on just the patch.
