Hello For Information If A Person Gets Hiv From One

Question: hello for information if a person gets hiv from one person and gets hiv again from other person. . will antibodies which were formed due to seroconversion from first infection become less from the second hiv infection or remain the same and will be detectable by fourth generation hiv tests even after second infection. also if a person thinks he has potentially contacted hiv from two different persons in a year and his fourth generation tests are negative after six months after first contact and six months after second contact the then he has not contacted hiv from both the occasions and doesn't have hiv? the question is do antibodies which were formed from first infection and from second infection remain detectable always by fourth generation tests ?
My question is also antibodies which should have come after first infection didnt get affected by second infection or viceversa antobodies which should have come after second infection didnt get infected by the first infection in the sense they cannot be detected by fourth generation tests i mean does in anyway two infections affect each others antobodies so that they cant get detected by fourth generation tests Wanted to ask how do u know the antibodies formed due to first infection will not get affected by second infection and will remain detectable by fourthgeneration tests even after second infection any link in the net or from where thsnks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Once some one gets infected with HIV the virus remains detected life long.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sanjeev68,

Welcome to Ask a Doctor Service.

If any person gets infected with HIV virus it remains in the blood for life time and always detectable with 4th generation HIV Duos test. If the person gets infected multiple times then it will increase the viral load in the blood stream and more advanced disease but the virus is detectable even with rapid tests also. If you want any other information related to HIV you can write to me again.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
Antibodies against HIV virus will be detected in the blood.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sanjeev68,

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

The immune system is the body's defense against infections by microorganisms (such as bacteria or viruses) cause the disease. The immune system produces special cells called antibodies to fight off or kill these microorganisms. Though the immune system becomes weak in HIV infection but if the virus is present in the blood, it produces antibodies against it which can be detected by the tests. Please tell me the details of the incidence to guide you in much better way.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
Yes definitely in that case you are free from HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sanjeev68,

If the contact is unknown during first incidence then how can you say he was positive and if you tested negative after six months of second incidence then definitely you are free from HIV because the window period for HIV infection varies from 15 days to 3 months. The test result after 6 months or 18 months post exposure would be 100% reliable and conclusive so don't think too much, allay the fear or anxiety related to HIV and live your life normally.

Thank You

Thanks. My question is sir. I dont know the status of nither first exposure nor second exposure . Ihad these two exppsures in a year I am asking i didnt go for testing after first exposure. I just did testing once and that was six months after second exposure and naturally it counts 18 months post first exppsure and the result was negative by fourth generation hiv combo antigen antibody test. So that means i havent got infection from both the exppsures by testing once timing of which i wrote . is that what u meant. ? Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
Yes definitely you are risk free from both the exposures.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sanjeev68,

You are absolutely safe and risk free from both exposure if the test result after 6 months of second exposure that is after 18 months of first exposure is negative because if infection was there in any exposure it will get detected with 4th generation HIV Duos test as the window period was also over so just calm down, forget these episode and move on in life because you are not at any risk.
