hello doctor, my mom is 60 years old. she gets cramps very frequently. could you please suggest which speciality doctor should we consult.

Can you describe the symptoms of your mother in detail.

Does she have the body cramps? or is it abdominal cramps?

Have you consulted doctor for this complaints?

Follow-up: hello doctor, my mom is 60 years old. she gets 4 minutes later
she gets mainly abdominal cramps and in legs in the night. she has arthritis for which orthopaedic doctor has suggested knee replacements. however we are not sure who to consult for cramps as the ortho doctor did not look into it. she is diabetic as well

Get an ultra sound abdomen to rule out any abdominal pathology.

You are complaining of abdominal cramps. As per my opinion i feel some abdominal pathology might be present hence i recommended general surgeon, and abdominal scan.

thank you Doctor , what about cramps in legs. they are very severe and the calf muscles become very stiff after the cramps

Give her calcium an magnesium supplements as of now.

Just get her abdominal scan and get doctors opinion. If possible upload the reports.
