Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be suggestive of a hiatal hernia. Acid reflux can not be excluded either.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with a gastro-enterologist for a physical exam and maybe performing a fibrogastroscopy.

Other tests to consider would be:

- a resting ECG
- fasting glucose levels and glucose tolerance test.

In the meantime, I would recommend trying to use a PPI (omeprazole or pantoprazole) and see if it relieves your symptoms. This would be indicative of a hiatal hernia or acid reflux.

Another tip would be to avoid large meals and try to eat more often in small portions.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

I remain at your disposal in case of further questions whenever you need!
