Brief Answer:
A biopsy is needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Most moles are harmless and labelled as nevus.
If there change in size or color, it has to be evaluated thoroughly because it could be sign of melanoma (a type of skin cancer).
Consult a surgeon and get a biopsy done to
rule out malignant (cancerous) change.

Brief Answer:
Doesn’t look like cancerous

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It doesn’t look like cancerous or something to worry. It looks like an infected mole. Other possibilities are infected wart or molluscum. You can take analgesics like ibuprofen or diclofenac for pain. Antibiotics can also be started if there is severe pain and redness around the bump. Once the pain has subsided, you can consult a GP get it excised and sent the specimen for biopsy for reassurance.
