Brief Answer:
Seclusion therapy is decided on the basis if mental status of the patient.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query and understand that you are concerned about the need of seclusion therapy in mentally ill patients.

The choice of this therapy depends on the mental status of the patient, as if the patient is very aggressive, he may be harmful to himself and also to others.

So definitely it is advisable to seclude such patient and treat him, till he get stable.

Haldol, thioridazine are the antipsychotics, which helps in stabilizing the patient and calms down, improves his biological functions and decreases distress along with improving socio- occupational function.

Hope this information helps you.Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It is fillowed according to mental health act.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I can understand your concern about the treatment of mentally ill patients.

I would say that it is all done according to the chapters approved in mental health act.

Any professional psychiatrist can not take his individual decisions in treating the mentally ill.
They have to follow according to the norms and rules mentioned in mental health act.

So, there is nothing in their own personal interest.
Hope this information clears your concern.
