What Would Be Required To Remove Scar Tissue On My Nipple And To Stop The Scar Tissue From Growing?

Question: I have scar tissue that has developed from a right breast biopsy performed in October 2001 during a one day procedure . The scar is circular and has healed in the middle while developing an outside circle of scar tissue that has grown about a half inch towards my healthy nipple and is continuing to grow and may soon attach itself to my healthy nipple. My skin doctor to date has given me one laser treatment and one steroid injection. The rate of growth of the scar tissue concerns me because the doctor can only treat small areas at a time every two weeks. Please tell me what other treatment can stop the scar tissue from becoming attached to my healthy nipple faster than my current treatment? Also, if the scar tissue becomes attached to my healthy nipple what would be required to remove the scar tissue and to stop the scar tissue from growing?

Hi,

As per your description, it looks like Keloid. The present treatment is accurate. There is no need to change it.
The growth cannot be arrested by removal. Even it is removed, the Keloid will recur at the incision site. Be patient and follow your doctor's treatment. Nothing to worry. The regression is a slow process. But, it will come down.
