Brief Answer:
Stop just before the pain starts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After a knee replacement surgery it is best to not to put too much stress on the knees. She needs to gradually increase her activity and stop just before the pain starts.
She can start with slight walking and in case there is no pain and swelling then increase the walking by 250 meters every week.
I hope this answers your query.

Thanks for your reply. She since she is not having much pain and is walking for 1.5 kms daily. she has got mild swelling in foot not sure it is because of walking is it ok to have mild swelling or we should take attention. As suggested we will follow your suggestion.
In general what would be the recommendation for the patients who undergone knee replacement when they can walk up to 2 kms?

Thanks for your quick reply.
