What should be done while experiencing pain in the knee while walking post bilateral knee replacement?
My Mon has undergone Bilateral Knee replacement 2 Months back. She is doing fine now.Wanted to check if My mother can do walking daily for 2 kms early in morning or this should be done only after 3 months of surgery.
She is having very mild pain while walking
Stop just before the pain starts.
Thanks for posting your query.
After a knee replacement surgery it is best to not to put too much stress on the knees. She needs to gradually increase her activity and stop just before the pain starts.
She can start with slight walking and in case there is no pain and swelling then increase the walking by 250 meters every week.
I hope this answers your query.
