Brief Answer:
Could be neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Is it one hand or both hands?
Numbness of both hands while holding objects could be a sin of neuropathy due a medical condition. You may need to be further evaluated. It maybe happening due to a nerve pinching in the spine and an orthopedic surgeon maybe able to deal with it.

If the numbness is just in one hand, then a local nerve maybe getting pinched. In this case, you may get evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon.

So please let me know the details.
