What Dosage Of Dexamethasone Injection Is Advisable For An Addison's Disease Patient?

Question: Addison’s patient with dexamethasone injection on hand for dehydration emergency. Realizing vial has no dosage instructions. Vial is 120 mg/30 ml. I am 6-2, 170 pounds. Any idea on dosage? Thanks!

Hello,

We usually recommend 100 mg hydrochortisone in these situations but if you gave to use dexametasone the dose is 4 mg iv it means 1 ml of your concentration.
