Posted on Thu, 8 Oct 2015
Question: Hello,

A friend of mine had an MR scan in a healthy volunteer study and there was a bright spot clearly visible in his FLAIR and T1 images. Could you look at the images and diagnose what the issue can be?

Thanks.

I forgot to mention. I was asking about the bright spot inside the ventricle at the back on the left-hand-side.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It is called as choroid plexus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Bright spot inside the left ventricle is a normal structure. It is called as choroid plexus and it is responsible for production of C.S.F.
Bright appearance may be due to presence of some fat inside it.This is a normal finding and it is not concerning.
