What Do Small Skin Growths On Scrotum Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Sep 2014
Question: I'm an athletic 32yr old white male in relatively good health. However, I've been in remission since the age of sixteen from rhabdomyosarcoma ( located in the cavernous sinus). I recently noticed three growths on my scrotum near the base of my penis. I believe that they've developed within the past 3-4 months. They are milk-chocolate in color, a bit smaller than the diameter of a pencil, and protrude approx 2mm. They are painless, fairly flaccid, and appear to be only skin-deep. I am sexually active but take precautions and have dated each one for a while before hand. I am fairly confident that this is not an STD.

Brief Answer:
You might have ?seborrheic keratosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail and seen the attached picture.
Your condition looks like seborrheic keratosis and you might have avoided the self removal due to the location and risks involved. Anyways please take all precautions for a quick healing.

You might be having seborrheic keratosis, one of the most common noncancerous skin growths in older adults. Please consult your doctor and get your condition confirmed. Usually they are left for observation without any active treatment. If necessary can be treated under medical supervision.

As you have developed these growths over short period of 3 - 4 months, confirming the condition is necessary by clinical examination.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
