What Do My Ultrasound Scan Test Results Indicate?

Question: I had a mammogram that showed an abnormality. i had repeat imaging and ultrasound that showed cystic clusters and radiologist said that i could wait 6 months. But breast surgeon now wants a breast mri to be sure. It this standard?

Hi and welcome to HCM.

Breast lesions should always be clarified especially in your age as in modern times it is advisable to do MRI if any breast focal change is seen even if there is no mamographic or ultrasound feature of suspicious malignancy.

So,generally, chances for cancer are very low considering these findings but it can't be ruled out 100% and if you are able to do MRI then you should do it.
