Brief Answer:
Can plan intercourse, but not fool proof.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

Heredity and genetics decide the sex of the baby. Yet, some studies have shown the sperms carrying the Y being very active and short-lived while those with the X are alive for a longer period of time and are slow moving.

Thus, if the intercourse is planned, preferably after 2-3 days abstinence to improve the quality of the sperm, close to the ovulation period, the possibility of conceiving a male child is more. Though, this is not a fool proof mechanism. There are no documented results and studies, but only predictions are available.

Please improve the general condition through good nutrition. Intake of dry fruits, particularly almonds, is most often useful. This will help both of you to remain healthy and fertile.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Yes I do believe on Heredity and genetics.
My Dad has two male kids ( Myself and Brother)
My Grandfather has two female kids followed by two male kids

From my wife family she has one elder sister and one younger brother.
So If I plan accordingly stop having sex 2-3 days before ovulation and plan it on that day may be we can have Baby boy right?

Brief Answer:
Baby sex is determined only by the male and not the female.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

Sex of the baby is determined by the male partner alone. So, your wife has nothing to do with sex determination since she carries only two X chromosomes.

I have already mentioned that the method I suggested is only a prediction and hence, not fool proof. Prenatal determination of the bay sex is not permitted legally in some countries including XXXXXXX

ART procedures which help to recover selected chromosomes for fertilization is a recent development. This is another way to predetermine sex of the baby.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please contact if you need any more information. I will be ready to help.

Shanti.V.
