What Causes Your Balls Of Your Feet To Feel Like

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Feb 2021
Question: What causes your balls of your feet to feel like they are frozen? I can still feel everything but they feel swollen or puffy but they are not. They don’t hurt or tingle..sometimes I get cramps in my toes if I wiggle them. I have had this condition for years. It it seems like it is getting worse. My blood work is all good except a little high on cholesterol. It is mainly in the balls of both feet.. equal on both sides..is it from wearing heels and the ball of my foot pounding the pavement? My pulses in my feet are great.. doc says my circulation is good in my feet when he checks my pulses.. thanks

Brief Answer:
Metatarsalgia is very likely the cause of your concerns.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to the "Ask a Doctor" service.

I have read your query.

These symptoms may indicate metatarsalgia or plantar fascitis, these are conditions that result from a number of offending factors such as intense activity, poorly fitting shoes, high heels, foot deformities, excess weight, etc.

Measures such as rest, wearing proper shoes, using ice periodically, using metatarsal pads, pain relievers. etc. should help you to improve.

Seeing an Orthopedic surgeon also is necessary for a correct evaluation especially in the case of deformities.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
