What Causes White Opaque Sediments In Urine Of Child?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Dec 2014
Question: My son is five and half years old. His urine sometimes gets whitish opaque due to some sediments. We notice some white patches on his pants and shorts after he gets up in the morning or when he returns from his school . (Not regularly)
sometimes whitish sedimentation is also noticed when he urinates on the floor.
This has been occurring after two or three days for last fifteen days.
He had same problem six months ago. At that time it continued for fifteen days or so. Now again its occurring.
I am worried a lot about this problem and want to know the cause.
I consulted two doctors. One of them told me that it might due to phosphate (or like) sedimentation and another told due to worms.
What should I do???? What's the cause? Is there anything to fear? What tests should I make of my son? Give the details of the tests..Please help.
His weight and height is normal. He sucks his index and middle fingers of his left hand quite frequently.

Brief Answer:
Rule out INFECTION, SALT Crystallization.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Turbid urine is usual indicator of some infection in the urine. Can be ruled out with examination of urine routine and culture sensitivity.
If the urine culture indicates about the infection which can be easily treated with relevant drug according to the sensitivity report.
Turbid urine is also because of salt crystallization of calcium and phosphate. (due to high concentration of solutes or unusual pH). Not a worry some problem. This can be managed by giving plenty of fluid, alkalizer fluid (alkasol). Discuss all about this with your doctor.
Hope the query is answered.
Please feel free for further clarification.
thanks
